| The Railway is now registered as a venue for civil wedding ceremonies. We provide a novel and interesting venue, with all the quality and dignity required for the ceremony itself. | |||||||||||||
Our Registration Marriage ceremonies available under our Registration are for those who do not require a religious content, and are conducted by a Registrar. We are able to offer - Civil Marriage and Civil Partnership ceremonies. Naming Ceremonies. Re-Affirmation of Vows. Ceremonies take place in one of our Norwegian coaches, re-arranged for the occasion. This provides a dignified and attractive setting. Facilities available We are able to offer some or all of the following facilities: The Ceremony room can accommodate approximately 70 persons seated. Attractive curtains provide a pleasant backdrop for the Registrar, who sits behind a white linen-covered table. A red carpet is provided from the entrance leading to the table. The room is suitable for disabled access and the layout can be arranged to suit wheel chairs. The cost of the Ceremony Room is £500 per occasion. A flower service is available for decorating both the room and its entrance, and for the bride and groom. A photographer can also be arranged who is familiar with our site. He is able to produce stills, a CD collage album with music and a video. |
The Reception For the reception a number of options are available - The "Moonraker" dining train can be hired complete with a diesel or steam locomotive to traverse the line during the meal - or it may remain stationary. A full sit-down meal can be provided for up to 64 people or a cold buffet for around 120 people. Cost of the "Moonraker" is £250 if included in a normal service train. There is an additional charge of £450 if special steam haulage is required, or £350 for diesel haulage. A marquee can be provided in the picnic area adjacent to the BBQ. This is suitable for up to 150 people and a cold or hot buffet provided. A hog roast is also available at this location. A disco can also be provided with a number of options, either using our disco coach (limited to 60 people) or in the marquee if more guests are expected. We are happy to discuss these and any other requirements that may be required. A CD of a previous wedding is available for viewing at our site. Finally, the Railway has a 25-year history of "putting the customer first". We are proud of our friendly and professional approach to all that we do for our visitors, and our Wedding facilities are certainly no exception. |
