Starting on Monday 14th May, major road works will affect access to the railway. Details of these are outlined below.
But, subject to diversions, access to the railway at Blunsdon Station will be available at all times.

Phase 1

Replacement of River Ray Bridge
20 weeks closure
Phase 2

Remedial work on Blunsdon Station Bridge
12 weeks closure
The narrow bridge over the River Ray is to be removed and replaced with an upgraded structure of two carriageways width.
Although the road will be closed to all vehicles, a pedestrian footbridge will be provided.
Vehicle access will be from the Purton direction only.
Phase 2 will commence on the completion of Phase 1, with the opening of the improved River Ray bridge.
This Phase will involve remedial works on the railway bridge, which is a Listed Structure in its own right.
Vehicle access will be from the Oakhurst / A419 direction only.

Completion of this project will also see the present traffic lights re-sited to give safer and more convenient access for all road users, including those entering and leaving Blunsdon Station car park.
