Hayes Knoll station

Hayes Knoll is the Swindon & Cricklade Railway's largest single project to date.
It not only gives the visitor a worthwhile destination, but provides the railway with essential facilities.
Both station and locomotive shed are open to visitors on most weekends, and often provide the focus for private parties visiting the Railway.

 1  Station
 2  Engine shed (extended 2003)
 3  Signal box
4  Route of extension towards Cricklade. This is now being built, with South Meadow Lane as the immediate goal.
Meanwhile, extensions to the head shunt and new sidings have provided much-needed storage space as rolling stock leaves Blunsdon. Click here to see more about our extension plans.
No3 outside shed
Just over half a mile from Blunsdon, Hayes Knoll engine shed is a spacious facility where locomotives and rolling stock are housed and restored.
It is already proving to be a major visitor attraction.
Tea and refreshments are usually available during the main Open Day programme from a buffet coach parked in the platform, as well as from the Whistle Stop cafe at Blunsdon.

North of Hayes Knoll new sidings have now been completed at the end of the head shunt. These are providing much-needed additional rolling stock storage.
