03 on bridge
Work on the Southern Extension became possible several years ago, when we reinstated the bridge over the River Ray. More recently, an 03 crosses with a load of rail.

Laying track
As far as possible, track on the Southern Extension follows our policy of laying all new rail in concrete sleepers. This will greatly reduce maintenance requirements in future years.

New culvert
Because of housing development on adjacent land, a new culvert was needed over this storm-water drain.
