 The Swindon & Cricklade Railway is working on an extension of its line southwards towards the future Mouldon Hill Country Park, where there will be a new station. |

 Work on the Southern Extension became possible several years ago, when we reinstated the bridge over the River Ray. More recently, an 03 crosses with a load of rail.  As far as possible, track on the Southern Extension follows our policy of laying all new rail in concrete sleepers. This will greatly reduce maintenance requirements in future years.  Because of housing development on adjacent land, a new culvert was needed over this storm-water drain. |
